An untended horse trail across an open field with a lovely view of Havering-atte-Bower and beyond.
Bower Field is adjacent to Bower House, built in 1729 by John Baynes. It is between Havering Park, Bower Park, and Bedfords Park, with a horse trail leading across the field and through the woods in between.
Parking is at the Orange Tree Pub, where you might even want to stop in for a bite or a pint. Enter from the permissive route on Orange Tree Hill (Havering Road) at N 51 36.768 E 0 10.854.
Alternatively, park in Bower Park (street sign says Bedfords Park) at N 51 36.798 E 0 11.496 and pick up the trail at N 51 36.678 E 0 11.328.
On wet days, you'll be glad you wore your wellies.
You are looking for a concealed plastic box. Please make sure to re-conceal it well.
