TGPTBM is a special contest hosted by Sonny, Sandy and Sean (GC name: Team PodCacher) from San Diego, California. This cache is a "pit-stop" in the contest where travel bugs can gain a point and a destination cache for the end of the contest. To find out more, ask the hider of this cache! The Great Black Swamp
  
(A Pit Stop in The Great PodCacher
Travel Bug Migration Contest)

The Great Black Swamp covered a huge area of the upper mid-west, roughly from Fort Wayne, IN to Toledo, OH; until the late 1800's.  The Black Swamp was so-named because flying insects were so thick, they created a three-foot tall; spooky, dark cloud over the swamp water!  

 The swamp was, of course, drained in time and became some VERY fertile farmland!  The view from the cache site overlooks some farmland that has been allowed to return to it's more natural state...

This cache is a Travel Bug Hotel, (kind of appropriate, huh?) filled with all kinds of travel bugs and trackables!   The Fort Wayne area has needed one just off of a major highway for quite a while!  

 To make this one easy to find, the container is a large, slightly cammoed, ammo box.  The cache location is only 5 minutes off I-69, on the southern edge of Fort Wayne at Highway 24.


To insure that this cache doesn't "walk away," the ammo box has been "secured" to a tree AND a padlock has been placed on the latch...


ORIGINALLY, the padlock needed a password...  But, no more!  You can easily open the container without worrying about the padlock.

 Even if you don't have a travel bug or trackable, feel free to move one (or more) along!
