Geocache Description:

Sheffield Pike (AW E.20)

This cache is part of a series orchestrated by the AW summittiers which is by way of a tribute to Alfred Wainwright.

Sheffield Pike towers above the two valleys of Glencoyne and Glenridding Beck. From the top there is a magnificent view of Ullswater.

Somewhere over the expanse of the top there are two iron posts with a M on one side and a H on the other, These are Boundary Posts - M 1912 : the Marshall Estate of Patterdale and H 1912 the: Howard Estate of Greystoke. It is fun trying to find them – Wainwright Book 1 shows their locations.
