Geocache Description:

The “Highway One” series of caches traces the path of old highways (mostly Highway One!).
It generally follows the old alignments of roads that were once used as our main thoroughfares throughout the country.

These caches will take you down roads and tracks and through towns and settlements that the Main Roads Authorities of this country don’t want you to see for some reason.
Some of the roads chosen are done so because of historical facts, street names or, deductions based on studying old maps has led me to believe that these roads are the original alignments. In some instances, some of these detours are simply taken because they are more interesting than the main road!
Following this route, instead of bypassing some of the beautiful places this country has to offer, will be both interesting and enjoyable.
Highway One - Lawnton, is the first cache in this series that I am planning will take people all around Australia.
You may find this is a nice place to take a break from the traffic.
I have relocated this cache to get it away from the school and prying eyes.
You are now looking for an Eclipse Tin.
Happy caching.
People starting their journey from the North side of Brisbane, would do well to begin at “They Call Me Bruce” (GC1BR99).
*FTF* honours go to ninasclan and rainbow monkeys. Congratulations on your quick find.
