Geocache Description:

A cache located in Ouaisne Common Nature Reserve with a choice of starting points for a short 0.2 mile walk through the gorse or a longer 0.7 mile walk from St Brelade across the beach at low tide or over a small headland at high tide. The Cache takes its name from the Olde Smugglers Inn nearby which provides superb refreshment from the best Real Ale pub in Jersey.

Short route:
Park at the free public car park in Ouaisne near the Olde Smugglers Inn found at N49 10.600 W002 11.064. Take a gentle stroll thorugh the Nature Reserve towards the tower built to protect Jersey from French invasion in Napoleonic times.

Longer route:
Park at the public car park in St Brelades Bay found at N49 11.156 W002 11.872. Enjoy the fantastic views as you cross one of Jersey's most picturesque beaches towards Ouaisne. At high tide, or for a more challenging walk, follow the promenade and path which climbs over a small headland offering beautiful views of St Brelade and Ouaisne.

Celebrate your find and swaps with a visit to the Olde Smugglers Inn for a drink or food.

Long trousers may be advisable as the cache site is accessible by paths through gorse and heather which can be spikey.
Since placing this cache the vegetation has grown further. Please approach the cache from the south (beach) side of the tower. You do not need to go over the fence!
