Geocache Description:

Bonne chance !

English

The panorama you'll discover here makes it possible to evoke the life of the first inhabitants of the area of Brive.

Some very old tools have been discovered here. Some of them were in use during the warm period of the paleolithic period (-150 000 to -40 000 years before our era). The Labenche museum owns several of those tools.

The small valleys are rich in shelters under rock, the majority having accomodated during the cold period which followed (paleolithic higher by -35 000 to -10 000 years before our era) our ancestors the hunters of deers, particularly in the small valleys of Courolle and Planchetorte.

If the climatic reheating allowed the men then, gradually, to regain their plates, some of these shelters - the recut caves of very close Lamouroux and Puyjarrige are the proof - will still very often be used as refuges, more or less temporary, during disturbed periods of our history.

To reach the cache, park your car on the proposed WP, and follow the marked path.

Good luck !
