Geocache Description:

Cache is a very easy multi with a few hundred yards walking, The walk to stage 1 is on a level lane.Here you will have a great view of the church. After getting the necessary information you will walk back past the parking area and down a pleasant track.Shortly before the cache you can again see the church.The cache is a small container containing log book,emergency logging tool (crayon) and £1 for FTF.

The tiny village of Gare Hill,also spelled Gaer Hill, acquired a church in 1858. This was consecrated on 24th August of that year.The church was built to accommodate a congregation of 150 which was more than enough for the local population.The church was dedicated to St Michael and just stood within Somerset.When approaching Gare Hill from Trudoxhill the church can be seen for miles around on top of the skyline.The consecration was attended by 600 people.The service was conducted by the Bishop of Bath and Wells and 24 others of the local clergy.The church has long since ceased to be used for worship and is now a private residence.
