This cache has been archived.

NCreviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This cache is a nano placed near a public beach access at Lake Waccamaw. It can be a quick park-and-grab cache but once you get there you might want to visit for a little while. BYOP

"Our Town" is a series of caches touring the towns that play important roles in the lives of our team. Lake Waccamaw is a favorite and frequent vacation spot. One member of the time has been coming here he was a young child and has been bringing his wife and family for several years now.

This small town has a lot to offer. Across the road from the cache, you will see a public beach access that is hot spot for visitors during the summer months. Next to the access is a great place for fish if you are feeling a little hungry. Behind the cache location is the NC Boys and Girls Home. Up the road is the Lake Waccamaw Depot Museum. The museum houses a canoe found at the bottom of the lake that has been dated back to the time of the Waccamaw Indians. If you are lucky, you might catch the museum when it is open. Depending on the time of year of your visit, you may be able to catch a glimpse of an alligator or two swimming down the canal as you continue your drive around the lake. Don't forget to stop by the Lake Waccamaw State Park to grab a couple more caches. Enjoy your visit!
