Geocache Description:

Kilcash Castle, County Tipperary.

The castle is situated on the slopes of Slievenamon, not far from Kilcash village. It is a six storeyed towerhouse with remnants of a hall-block and was one of the chief seats of the Butler family.

A short walk from the castle is the site of an ancient monastic foundation which had associations with St.Colman ua hEirc.

Easiest access is via the main N76 Clonmel to Callan road, which is approximately 1km south of here.

The cache is a plastic film canister. BYOP.

You will need to visit a few spots here to get all the numbers required to find this one.

First go to N52 23.865 W7 31.267
You should be standing by a stone wall. How many large holes at it's base with water flowing through? This is answer A.

Next head to N52 23.826 W7 31.406
Look at the headstone which is most legible. What is the very last year mentioned? This is answer B.

Now walk to N52 23.827 W7 31.381
How many small windows in the northwest gable of the ruin? Make this answer C.

Use these three numbers in the following to get your final coordinates:

N52° 23. B - 1047
W7° 31. (268 + A) x C
