I wanted to highlight a few of the
lesser known waterfalls in the region and here is the latest
installment.
Here is a
page on Pine Ridge Falls.
This cache is located at Pine
Ridge Falls located in the Cherokee National Forest. This
waterfall is about 20' high and is fairly photogenic for its
size. The hike is relatively short and uphill, about 0.5
miles one way. Relative to Sill Branch Falls this hike is
slightly easier.
I have posted coordinates for
parking. Once there head up the trail. At the fork take
the trail to the left (again, same as Sill Branch). Just
prior to the fork in the trail there is a stream crossing that
could result in wet feet when the stream flow is sufficiently
high.
I have tried to give a good hint due to serious
signal problems. Pictures also
may help. Check out the gallery. Coordinates are only
accurate within 40 feet after 500+ readings.
You will be looking for a 4" round
metal tube with camo tape applied to the outside.
Please place back as good or better than you found it so that
others can have the same experience.
