Geocache Description:

A multi-cache based around the village of Trethurgy.

Though more famous for its connection with the China Clay Industry, in the past, four adjoining mines worked a N-S trending vein of iron mineralisation that occurs round here between 1860 and 1877. Treverbyn and Knightor Mines lie slightly to the north of this cache, which takes you close to the Ruby Mine.

The total distance from start to finish is about 1km and is mostly flat and level, apart from the final section where the cache is hidden.

You can park for free in Trethurgy Village Hall Car Park at N50 21.883 W004 45.689 and then start your quest by answering the teasers below!

There is NO need to cross any fences to find the cache.

After finding the cache, you can either retrace your steps back through the village to your car, or (for a longer but more pleasant walk) continue along the Clay Trail to N50 21.950 W004 46.058 and take the footpath back to the centre of the village. You can also go this way to access the other caches hidden around the china clay workings and Carn Grey area.
