Tired of staring out the window at the snow and ice, wishing for better caching weather? Well, we can't change the weather, but we can gather and have a caching experience, known as a Winter Event :-).
By happenstance, several of us geocachers (Annakido, BJSwart and Wheeze) ran into each other at Hyvee and got started talking geocaching...and the idea for a Winter Event was born!
So let's gather at 9:30 AM on Saturday, Jan. 31st in the warmth of the Hyvee cafe, enjoying hot chocolate and coffee. We'll discover and exchange TBs, geocoins, and stories of geocaching experiences.
Refuge Ranger will be on hand with extra GPS units, for any newbies wishing to learn about this great game. There will also be some new winter-friendly caches planted for those that wish to brave the cold and seek the winter-friendly hides. So bring your TBs, geocoins, stories, and interested friends and plan on having a warm time in good company.
