Geocache Description:

A cache close to a "Clay Country" lake.

This cache is near Treskilling Pit, a disused clay working which is now used by fishermen from Roache angling club. It is located on the Eden Project to Bugle "Clay Trail" network, with a side path completely circling the lake. The pit was last worked in 1971 & has since been allowed to flood to a depth of about 15 metres. During it`s working life a total of 120,000 tons of material were extracted.
From the parking coordinates follow the trail south until you reach a large gate with a stile beside it. Cross the stile, following the broad track until you reach a small path heading away from the lake & towards the cache. If approaching from the south make sure you find the main trail entrance with the big blue "Clay Trails" sign at the end. There are other gateways on the road, but these lead to private fishing ponds & have no access to the cache!
You`re searching for a 3.5 litre box.
Enjoy your walk!
