As many local cachers will know the poor old Heffalump007 has an infected leg, the doctor said that on no account is he to walk too far a distance. On hearing this news I thought that I could plant a new ring of about 8 miles walk to frustrate him or I could place a drive by in his honour!
At the time that I placed this cache the Heffalump007 was in a bad way (I offered cut price surgery (a tennon saw) but the prospects did not look good).
Good news the Heff is back up and caching again, not quite at Westie pace but his leg and caching numbers are back to normal (If you can ever describe Heff as normal) read the cache page to see why I placed the cache in his honour.
No the co'ords are not wrong the map does show this as being in the middle of the Waterloo to Bournmouth line (well almost).
When they built the Elvetham Heath estate they decided that a pedestrian link to the town centre was necessary and they placed this bridge across the lines. The bridge is used by people walking to the town centre and the local doctors (fleet hospital) so beware of muggle activity.
There are some surprising good views from the cache location, at least better than I was expecting.
Please ignore your sat-nav if it tells you to park along Elvetham Rd (this is unsafe as it is a busy Rd ok it is a 30mph but most people ignore this)
There is parking waypointed in the estate (Giffard Lane) and is much safer and there is a childrens playgrond local as well.
With the Heffalump007 only able to do drive bys for a few weeks we might have to re-name him as HELLALUMP!
CACHE NOW A NANO (YES I KNOW IT IS A BIG METAL STRUCTURE AND A TINY CACHE) IF YOU LOOK AT THE HINT THIS SHOULD NOT BE TOO DIFFICULT TO FIND
