Geocache Description:

The cache is a cammoed pill bottle near an abandoned air strip of the old Apple Valley Municipal Airport close to the intersection of Thunderbird Road and Ute Road.

Bonus Benchmark. After you find the cache, be sure to find the benchmark it was named after. UTE (EV2855) is a 1965 USC&GS triangulation station consisting of 3 disks, the main disk UTE (the one that counts for a benchmark find), and 2 reference mark disks, UTE RM 1, and UTE RM 2. Try to find all 3, although we could only find the main disk. Don’t forget to log in your separate benchmark find at EV2855 .

Apple Valley Cache and Benchmark Series. Every cache in this series is within just a few feet of at least one historical benchmark. You can log in a find for the cache and log in a separate find for the benchmark. Be sure to find them all. Create a pocket query or download a Google Earth KLM file of this series.
