Geocache Description:

The southern one of two caches along the old railway embankment on the side of the Kent Estuary between Storth and Anside. The embankment is kept in good repair because it acts as a flood barrier for the low-lying farmland of Arnside Moss and Carr Bank.

It's a pleasant place for a stroll by the estuary with great views across to Whitbarrow, Meathop and the Lakes hills beyond. It's often good for bird spotting and watching the tide come in. Looking for a black vial. It's about 400m to this from Arnside station.

Although the Milnthorpe road goes quite close to the cache it's not a good place to park and you will get wet trying to reach the cache! The cache should be found from either end of the embankment, or from the Orange Badge holder's car park half-way along the road.

Nearest parking is 400m away at Arnside station. If you park on the road, go onto the platform and cross over via the old iron footbridge to access the embankment. Orange badge parking at the old yard on the north side of the line. Waypoint below.
