Part 2 of a Trilogy which includes Fellowship of the Cache (GC1D771). Pen and paper is essential & a pair of gloves an advantage. No real deviation from paths is required on a circular route of just over 3 miles. It would be very helpful to carry the narrative below with you as it is relevant to the journey. Currently no log book here, sorry, got removed by mischievous woodland creatures It is well concealed so you will need to think, the Sorcerer has tried a number of times to thwart you.
Eddie and Harry parked their tame griffins at Bushhill Griffin Park (N50 48.894 W001 42.862) and immediately started to look for the source of information standing at N50 48.909 W001 42.885. On the large wooden totem pole The Sorcerer had posted a public space protection order which came in to force on a day very special to The Sorcerer. This date in the format of D/M/YYYY formed the numbers required by Eddie and Harry. A/B/CDEF.
Eddie had been given the clue N50 49.FD(C-E) W001 41.(B+C)(B-A)F as the place to go to find what they were looking for. They worked this out using the information given and headed towards it. They headed out on a bearing of 80˚ across the green lands towards the River Baithat. Upon reaching the river where the currents were strong and most places impassable, they found its narrowest point, crossed and then headed through the vast forest set out before them finally emerging to begin the journey across the waste land laid bare, scorched and burned by recent battles with the Sorcerer of Mandakar. With ever increasing vigilance the two young warriors headed towards the cache
The valley was a dangerous place to be as the Sorcerer’s scouts could appear at any time from behind the innocent looking holly trees. With Eddie first and then followed by Harry they finally made it out of the valley and up on to the plateau where they could at last see for miles around. The two drew a breath of relief although they knew danger still lurked at every corner and could leap from the cover of passing clouds at any time. When they arrived in the area they found the King of the Oaks surrounded by his highly trained army, cunningly disguised as birch, beech and holly trees. The two heroes headed towards the location identified
At the location identified they found a new source of information. This one would provide details of the Sourcers stash. On the edifice there was an 8 digit number in the form of 33 GHI JKL. The final stash was located in some trees 8 steps NW of N50 49.(I-J)(K-L+J)I W001 41.(B+C)(K+L)(L+E)
Once uncovered they noted how the container was hidden so that they could easily replace it as it seemed to fit very snugly in to its camouflaged wrapping.
They sighed with relief this time, as oppose to drawing a breath of relief which they had done earlier, they opened the box and shrieked with delight as this was surely what they had been looking for. They then gasped at what they read and then a squeal of excitement (it had been an exhausting 5 minutes of sighing, shrieking, gasping and squealing) ......but why the final squeal? Please be careful when writing up your log of the find to make sure you do not reveal more than you intend to.
