Start Your Engines!
This is a special cache. Special because it is the starting
point for the Great TB Race. Special because it has over 70 TB's
from around the world waiting for their chance to win the race.
Special...because YOU can help. But don't wait too long or you
might find all the TB's have been grabbed already.
All Racing TB's have already left the cache. You waited too
long.
This cache has been changed from a giant ammo can into a small
tupperware container. The cache was also moved to a less
"float-away-in-a-flood risky" location.
So what is the goal of this race? The goal is to gain as many
points as possible performing certain tasks. Tasks range from
visiting caches and earning mileage to going to events and earning
FTF's. Whomever becomes the top three point earners after one year
(January 8th, 2010) will earn prizes. Prizes may vary, but check
out the "Prize Pool" page on the link below to see an up-to-date
list of what contestants may win. More prizes may be on the way.
The competition will be fierce.
I could go on and detail every aspect of the race, but why do
that on here when it's already been done. For complete racing
coverage go to The Great TB
Race. Rules, contestants, standings, even information about the
prizes can be found there. Bookmark it and check back often during
the year to see how the race is going. The one thing I will add is
that you check out the rules for points so that you know how to
help. Any extra points gained by dipping TB's into multiple caches
do not count. We only count for the final drop. Please be aware of
this.
Also, please do not return racing TB's to this cache. There are
plenty of larger caches to visit in the area where they can be
placed. Any racing TB has already earned points for being in this
cache and will gain nothing by being brought back here.
If you have any questions about the race, go to the website
provided above or contact me and I'll be happy to answer them.

Parking can be found in a nearby pull out. Note that there is a
nearby historical marker if you are interested, but please be
careful crossing the street to view it.
