Geocache Description:

The Hills Hoist is one of Australia's most recognised cultural icons. The Hills Hoist is essentially a structure for hanging wet clothes on so that they can dry. But over the years, Australians have found many other uses for it. Although only a household object, the Hills Hoist has become an important Australian icon and a symbol of national identity. It started in 1946. We grew up with them when we were children and swung on them, on the edges, just like other people. My Mum was always telling me off for swinging upside down on the Hills Hoist, and using it... "It's not play equipment! "It's to hang the washing on" - apparently. It wasn't play equipment, despite what we thought. And she was right in the end. You are looking for a small container with a pencil. Happy Hunting.
