Geocache Description:

Pet Memorial Garden

A companion cemetery cache. AMTG # 8. I will try to make my caches as easy to find (once you follow the instructions and solve any puzzles involved) as possible. They should be large enough to hold SMALL trackables and trade items. The cache is about 7 inches long and about 1.75 inches wide wrapped in black tape. Please try to replace it exactly as found. Please feel free to do any maintenance or email me with any problems. If you have done any of my other AMTG caches, you know what you are looking for. I suggest you bring the following to ALL of my caches: 1) Your respect: do not damage the environment or disrespect the spirits living here. 2) Your imagination to learn about the area and its people. 3) A compass (not needed on this cache). 4) A measuring tape for the mobility challenged (not needed on this cache). 5) I have also tried to make all of my stops informative to those that are visually challenged. The feeling of the inscriptions on the stops, the art, the beauty is all there to be seen with the hands. A visual guide will be needed to help but the rest is up to you! Now for AMTG #8 Remember to go to this cache to learn something new, see the beautiful artwork and feel the emotions carved in stone. This cache is in a pet (companion) memorial garden. Do not disrespect the spirits that live here or damage the plant life. The mobility challenged may need a little help as this one is a bit off the beaten path but NO BUSHWACKING is required. Please do NOT disturb the vegetation!!! This cache is close to AMTG #7 but is a traditional cache (no compass or measuring involved). I am always happy to hear from cachers that visit my hides and read about what they think and feel. I often get feedback on issues that I have not considered. Now for the hunt… the posted coordinates will take you to the cache site. Very near the cache site is a beautiful monument that is worth the hunt just to see it! Please see the pictures in the hint below for photos of the monument. If you wish, you can post pictures showing yourselves and the monument. I had to stop and read the long statement and was surprised at who wrote it. I wonder if you knew that this person had such feelings about our companions. It has often interested me that we humans have minds that can conceive of war, genocide and hatred and at the same time minds that conceive of such beauty. We have hands that can strike others and hands that can create such beauty. It causes me wonderment that this opposition is part of what makes us human. I took time to enjoy the beauty of this monument and it took my breath away. Enjoy! Please sign the log and return the cache so as to keep it slightly hidden and do not disturb the surrounding vegetation or this cache will be removed. Enjoy, ponder, question and learn about our society. This cache is dedicated to “All That Jazz”…my companion of many years who took me riding many miles into the beauty of North Central Florida. He was a stinker and often shied (he was an Arabian, after all and looked good while he was suddenly no longer under me)….but he always come trotting back and nudge me as if to say “Get up you silly woman and lets have some more fun!”. I miss you Jazz.
