Box o' Books (Auckland) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

fun2seek: A couple of days that I expected to need to get this cache up again has stretched to over a year and a half. I have an idea for another 'bigger and better' Box 'O Books but first need to find a suitable location.

Geocache Description:

Geocaching meets BookCrossing

Not only is this a straightforward traditional cache in a 5-liter snap lock container for the geocacher, but also a “crossover cache” for BookCrossing.

BookCrossing (also: BC, BCing or BXing) is defined as "the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by other people, often strangers, who then do likewise". The term is derived from bookcrossing.com, a free online book club that began and encouraged the practice, and aims to "make the whole world a library".

Please visit "www.bookcrossing.com" - (visit link) - to learn more about BookCrossing.

The books we stash in this cache are registered at www.bookcrossing.com, and are able to be tracked just like travel bugs. If you bring books to swap, please consider registering them first, put them in ziploc bags, and please keep it family friendly. While the general rule for GeoCaching is to leave something if you take something, at this particular cache YOU ARE WELCOME TO TAKE A BOOK WITHOUT REPLACING ONE, also do not cram it too full, as it is important that the books stay dry. If you are having trouble with space, feel free to take an extra book, or not leave one. We will add more books later as the need arises.

We do ask that if you take a book, register the “catch” at bookcrossing.com and once you are finished with the book, don’t hang on to it but release it back into the wild for someone else to find and read.

When placed, the books in this cache were:

FIRST OFFENCE – Nancy Taylor Rosenberg
I HEARD THAT SONG BEFORE – Mary Higgins Clark
FIND ME A VILLAIN – Margaret York
THE HIT LIST – Chris Ryan
ANGELS AND DEMONS – Dan Brown
SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS – David Guterson

There is also a logbook, pencil and a few small swap items for the non-book-lovers.
