SVE: Stenhuggaren Hans Niklasson började bygga huset 1914, och höll på till 1922, då alla de bastanta stenblocken var sammanfogade. Som dekorering är ett flertal figurer och bilder uthuggna i ytterväggen på huset och på stenmuren runt stugan. Samtliga inventarier och verktyg tillverkade han egenhändigt i sin verkstad och smedja, som ligger vägg i vägg med huset. Hans Niklasson bodde kvar i stugan till sin död 1953. Enligt hans testamente övergick stugan med smedja och verkstad samt inventarier till Svenneby Hembygdsförening, som nu förvaltar fastigheten. Invid stugan har föreningen, sedan några år tillbaka, byggt ett hembygdsmuseum för allehanda föremål och möbler.
ENG: Stonemason Hans Niklasson began building the cottage in 1914, working on it until 1922 when all the huge blocks were fitted together. As decoration there are several figures and scenes hewn in the outer wall of the house, and in the wall surrounding the cottage. All the fitments and tools are of his making, made in his smithy and workshop which adjoin the cottage. Hans Niklasson lived in the cottage until his death in 1953. At his bequest, everything went to the Svenneby Folklore Society, which now manages the building. Adjacent to the cottage, the Svenneby FS has built a rural museum for everyday objects and furniture.
