Hillgorilla's Rest Traditional Cache

Hillgorilla's Rest, a cache on the side of Holcombe Moor. A place to sit and enjoy the views.
The cache is located next to one of the footpaths that curl around the edge of the moor. It tends to be quieter side of the hill, so there is more of a chance to sit and take in the good view in peace. The view looks across to Hawkshaw and Affetside, with Winter Hill in the distance. On a summer day, it is a great spot for a scram stop.
The cache is located amongst a rocky outcrop near to the footpath. Please be careful, as in places there are some steep drops. It is also a short steep route to the cache site, so please watch where you are treading, and if you have kids with you, it may be best to hold their hands. You can gain access to the cache side by going around the side of the outcrop.
The cache could be combined with others, to make an enjoyable day out on the hill.
Unfortunately - due to the nature of the terrain , it is not suitable for those with prams or wheelchairs.
This side of Holcombe Hill, can be exposed to cold winds, so please dress appropriately, and wear the correct footwear.
