The township of Much Hoole has an area of 1,776 acres, and the
population numbered 624 in 1901. The Douglas or Asland River forms
the boundary on the west, and the surface rises slightly from west
to east, about 70 ft. above the ordnance datum being reached on the
boundary of Leyland.
This is the entrance and exit to Much Hoole and formed part of the
original main road before the A59 trunk road was added. If you are
crossing the road on foot, please be very careful as the traffic
sometimes goes very fast here. Please do not park on the main road.
Most of these caches can be done as drive bys or as part of a
circular walk taking approx 1.5 hours and 3 miles
