CACHE RELOCATED AND HINT UPDATED 26/04/09.
PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY PRINTOUTS FROM BEFORE THIS DATE.
If you have found the cache before this date please feel free to
re-find and log it again as it is a totally different
hide.
This is a "Geocoin Bank" site please do not leave any swaps
or Travel Bugs in the cache, it is only for Geocoins. This cache is
to exchange Geocoins and should always have coins in it.
You may take as many Geocoins as you wish, but please also try
to help other coins towards their goal by placing them in the
cache.
You may sign the log book and log your find on the website
regardless of whether or not you have exchanged any Geocoins.
The cache is a very small (180ml) Lock & Lock
container. It does not have any room for swaps or Travel Bugs, so
please do not try to leave any in the cache. Please ensure that the
lid is properly clipped on and that the cache is sealed before
replacing it. Please replace the cache and camouflage as you
found it so that it is not visible from the path. The path is
accessible by wheelchairs, however wheelchair users will not be
able to retrieve the cache without assistance.
The cache is located between the River Mersey and the disused
Runcorn & Latchford canal. The path is surrounded on both
sides by deep water, so please do not stray far from the path. The
cache is only around six feet from the path. This section of
the Trans Pennine Trail is a footpath and is therefore not open to
cyclists and horse-riders, which have to use Eastford Road instead.
However, if you approach from the north-west it is only a short
walk to the cache.
Getting There
By car: Coordinates are given below for a lay-by on Eastford
Road, a short walk from the cache. The road becomes private beyond
the lay-by, so please do not park or drive beyond this point.
By public transport: The cache is not served by a bus route,
but is a 30 minute walk from the bus and train stations. Walk down
Slutchers Lane (N 53° 23.140 W 002° 36.031) from the
town centre and join the footpath on the right hand side half way
down the road, then cross the Mersey at the footbridge (N
53° 22.480 W 002° 36.267) that goes along the railway
bridge.
