This is Pro, which is part of the Quid Pro Quo cache series. Quid and Pro are regular caches but each of them has a special piece of information required to find Quo. Quid and Pro each have one of the coordinates for Quo, and that is the only way to find Quo. So, when you come to find Pro DO NOT FORGET to get Quo's latitude!!!
When you go looking for Pro use the parking area, which is on the North side of the river. It is a short walk down to the canoe put-in.
There are a few things you will want to keep in mind when you go to Pro. First, you will need a CANOE OR KAYAK, or just be willing to swim about 50 yards. People do indeed swim here and there is a rope swing very near by. Although you will be boating (or swimming) in the Haw River, you will be upstream of the dam so water level will not be an issue - it is always slow moving, calm, and navigable. Second, bring a binocular for bird and wildlife viewing - lots of birds (owls, ospreys, hawks and the occasional eagle), beavers, otters, deer, and other critters. As a matter of fact, while hiding the cache I jumped two does. Third, if you enjoy fishing this would be an ideal opportunity to bring some ultralight tackle and try for some bass, bream, or bullheads. The bass love to hang out on the downstream side of the rocks and you can find bass and bream underneath the trees and bushes near the banks.
This cache will be a bit of trouble to get to so remember to get the latitude for Quo while you're out there.
