Geocache Description:

The Thief’s hands are freezing; they cling desperately to the cold and slippery metal work of the landing gear which has served as his getaway and hiding place for the last 5 hours. Four thousand feet up and exposed to the elements he looks down at the landscape and he can make out familiar landmarks: the Forth Bridges, East End Park………the Central Café in Kinross!! The flight is coming to the end of its twice-daily journey from Baghdad to Perth Airport and is therefore coming in low enough for the thief to make his move. Clutching onto his little plastic box which contains all that’s left of the raid on the Iraqi National Bank he stares down at the cold, uninviting depths of Loch Leven in nervous anticipation!

All of a sudden, he jumps!

He splashes down at Co-ords: N 56° 11.750 W 003° 25.000……….and rises to the surface, bruised but conscious. “I’ve made it” he thinks “Back on home soil……or water to be more precise!” There’s no time to linger however; he knows that in a matter of hours the local detectives will be on his trail searching for him and his little plastic box of loot. He decides to make a run to his home village: ‘The Unofficial Twin Town of The Thief of Baghdad” which is within a ten mile radius of his splash-down point. There he will hide; there he will be safe………maybe!

Potential Detectives:

It is your job to catch the thief and find his little box of loot and to do so you’ll need a starting point. There’s no point looking in the Loch, he fled from there hours ago, but he did mention that he was heading to the Unofficial Twin Town of The Thief of Baghdad. Where could that be? You’d think that I’d help you with an extra hint, like the nearest hamlet: But you can beat it!!

Clue 1:

Once in the village, the first thing the thief did was send word back to Baghdad to his accomplices that he got there safe, therefore go to the Post Office in search of clues. How many yellow APT security points are there on the front of the building? = A

Clue 2:

Next the thief needed a whisky or two to celebrate his success. Go to the local Pub (very close to the PO) and behind a hanging basket is a Yellow plate. In the bottom half of the H is a single digit number, what is it? = B

How many hanging baskets BRACKETS are there on the front wall? = C (There is some confusion here as in winter they bring some baskets in. You need to get the number of brackets (It's a two digit number))

How many Black Ploughs are outside the pub? = D

Clue 3:

After a few drinks the thief starts to feel guilty and so feels the need to go to church. On the West wall are 3 plaques, find the one dedicated to the Memory of the Reverend John Storer V.D.M. When was he ordained minister? = EFGH

That's it, the game is afoot!! You have all the clues to catch him so go to: N 56° (C-H).(B+G)F(A*G) W 3° H(G-E).B(B-A)((D*2)+E) arrest him and retrieve the loot! Don't forget the mass of police paperwork and file a report below quoting your D.I. name and number!!

Police new development: The thief known to be located within the village that the clues are kept. If your coords are taking you miles in another direction then check your facts and try again!
