The Loch Leven Heritage Trail is a circular trail around Loch Leven for 21km with lots of places to join and/or stop for refreshments en route.
The emphasis is on wildlife and Loch Leven’s status as a national nature reserve. The loch’s water, islands and reed-fringed shores are internationally important for nesting ducks and over-wintering wildfowl, with more than 20,000 pink-footed geese using the area. This cache is situated at Carsehall bog which is the roosting place for large numbers of these geese.
Whatever time of year you visit, there are plenty of birds to see and the three hides along the route are ideal places to sit and watch their goings-on.
Parking and access to the trail can be found at a number of areas around the loch.
Please remember to ensure all gates are closed behind you.
You will need to bring a pen/pencil.
