This is the third in a series of micro's hidden in Brantford parks. All of them are stand-alone caches, and are not tied into a final stage. The reasons for placing these caches are to increase the number of caches hidden in the Brantford area, to provide cachers with a brief history of the parks they will be visiting, and to give cachers the opportunity to enjoy some of the beautiful surroundings in "The Best Blooming City" in Ontario!
Please take a pen or pencil with you.
Be sure to bring your geohound along when you visit Brantford's first Off Leash Dog Park (otherwise you might look rather out of place)!
For several years dog owners of Brantford requested an off-leash park for their pooches. Finally council approved the development of such a park, and in 2006 Dogford Park opened to a chorus of yips, yaps and the occasional woof! Happy dogs and their owners wagged their tails all the way to Gilkison Street in West Brant. This is a perfect place to take your geohound as a reward for logging all those kilometres with you as you scour the landscape for those elusive caches. The park is located off Colborne Street West and just past the BSAR overpass.
As the mission statement indicates, the purpose of this park is "Providing off leash freedom for the enjoyment of dogs and their families, in a safe and healthy environment."
This park is intended for leash free dog exercise. It is not recommended that leashed dogs be walked in this park. Please remove your dog's leash in the double-gated area before entering the park.
Beware of Muggles of all shapes and sizes . . . and their canine muggles, too! Use extreme stealth during daylight hours!
Vehicle access to the park could be limited when the Grand River floods because the Roads Department may temporarily close Gilkison Street. In such a case, take the Lion's Park entrance off Mount Pleasant Street, follow it around to Catherine Street and then walk to Dogford Park. It is a rather short hike to both the park and the cache.
Please do not shake branches or bushes. There is no need for that. Be gentle and please replace as found. Thanks!
Congratulations to "THE GO GETTERS" for FTF!!!
