Weta Hotel
The Washbourne Scenic Reserve begins beside the highway, 15 km
north of Takaka on the road to Collingwood. This short, easy walk
through gorgeous native forest is approximately 15 minutes each
way. You will probably find yourself being followed by one of the
resident fantails, hopping about while you enjoy the tranquillity
of this delightful little reserve.
Once you have found the cache, continue another 50 metres to the
end of the track, and check out "Weta Hotel"!
The cache is 1 litre sistema container, and is hidden a few
paces off the track. It contains swaps, log and pencil. A detailed
clue has been provided as GPS reception may be unreliable due to
tree coverage.
