Welcome to the first cache from MJB12 and the Burkey Turkeys.
Nestled in Sydney's leafy North Shore is one of Ku-ring-gai's hidden treasures....the Quarry Masons Forest.
Early last century the area was a white sandstone quarry. It was transformed in the mid 1980's into a quiet peaceful park. The reserve has a small grassy area and a creek / wetland. Brush Turkeys live in the bushland surrounding the park.
The Australian Brush-turkey is up to 70 cm in length, with a mainly black body plumage, bare red head, yellow throat wattle (pale blue in northern birds) and laterally flattened tail. The Australian Brush-turkey is not easily confused with any other Australian bird. It is the largest of Australia's three megapodes (Family Megapodiidae).
The cache container is a regular lunchbox sized Lock & Lock box. It contains logbook, pen, and swaps.
Please ensure box is replaced in exactly the same manner - cover well.

THIS IS A REPLACEMENT CACHE IN THIS LEAFY NORTH SHORE PARK. THE PREVIOUS CACHE BOX WAS MUGGLED IN EARLY ARPIL 2009.
IT HAS BEEN PLACED IN A LESS ACCESSIBLE AREA WITHIN THE PARK IN AN ATTEMPT TO INCREASE IT'S LONGEVITY. THE NEW CO-ORDINATES ARE:

THE LAST 10 METRES TO THE NEW LOCATION CAN BE SLIPPERY WHEN WET, AND MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. IT SHOULD BE FINE FOR TEENS AND ADULTS, AND THERE IS A GRASSY AREA WITH PICNIC TABLE WITHIN THE PARK. PLEASE EXCERCISE CAUTION.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE WHEN MUGGLES ARE IN THE PARK. PLEASE REPLACE WELL.
SADLY, "Firefighter Station 5" TB and "Mighty Mac" TB, SEEM TO HAVE GONE MISSING WHEN THE CACHE WAS MUGGLED.
