This cache is one of a series in a circle between Kennilworth Castle and Honiley, named after places in Rajasthan in India.
This is a small, plastic, waterproof cache. It contains a logbook, pencil and sharpener as well as the usual exciting range of tantalising trinkets.
You can walk from Kenilworth Castle to Honiley and back again on a 12km route across beautiful countryside using well-marked public footpaths all the way. Using this route, there will be a small section where you walk along a quiet country lane for about a mile near Honiley church, before rejoining a public footpath. The circle takes approximately three to four hours to complete. Approach from Honiley to reduce the amount of time required for all caches to two to three hours. It can be a little muddy if the rain has been falling but nothing too bad.
The cache gives you an opportunity to criss-cross behind Kenilworth Castle on well-marked public footpaths. You’ll get some great views of the castle and of the rolling countryside between Kenilworth and Honiley – look out for intriguing bumps and scars and remains of moats and wells on the land, hinting of a completely different landscape a thousand years ago.
