Be sure to note the important things at the bottom of this description!
For quite a while now, several of us have been talking about starting the Johnstown-Altoona Geocachers Assocation (JAGA) to bring together cachers from Cambria County and the surrounding areas for fun and caching. Come out and join us for this first event!
The event will be held at Morris's Tavern in St. Michael at 12:30 on Saturday, January 31. We chose this location in hopes that it would be a somewhat central location not only for cachers from Johnstown but also for those from the northern parts of Cambria County and the Altoona area.
We'll have some prizes, some hangout time, and discuss plans and ideas for the Johnstown-Altoona Geocachers Assocation. Bring your Travel Bugs and Geocoins to trade, move along, or show off.
We're holding the event in the early afternoon, partly to allow time for some group caching afterwards, so plan to join us for some caching adventures after the event if you can. And we may even place a few new caches in the area to create some first to find excitement as well!
Please post in your log how many will attend with your group, so that we can give Morris's a heads-up on how many of us are coming.
A few important things about the event:
1) The start-time is being changed to 12:30, rather than 1:00, at Morris' request. If you can't come til 1, it's okay - but come at 12:30 if you can.
2) Because of the size of our group, we need to order from Pizza, Wings, Appetizers, and Salads. If you want a salad, they need to know ahead of time - so email me if you want a salad, and how many people want it. If you know you'll want Pizza/Wings/Appetizers and want to give me a number when you email, that may help them prepare too.
3) Morris' is also planning to put us all on one bill. As a result, please bring cash if you are able... it will make things much less complicated, I'm sure.
4) The current forecast is for a high of 19 degrees on Sat. afternoon. If you want to cache after the event... make sure to bring appropriate apparel to bundle up!
