This Geocache has been resurrected. We originally planned for this to be a subterranean cache to be found by metal detector. However, the Northern California Volunteer Reviewer informed us in no uncertain terms that buried caches are an absolute no-no and that extraneous equipment such as metal detectors are frowned upon in the Geocaching community. Thus our creative but ill-conceived Geocache never did see the light of day. While unearthing our stillborn cache we were surprised by a Jackrabbit, which bounded off and led us to a new aboveground hiding place. Thus my daughter and I have rechristened this Geocache as “jack Rabbit Cache.” The cache is stashed in the Sandy Dunes between the Mad River, Willow White Creek (thanks for the correction Bruhn) and the Pacific Ocean. It should be a straightforward find- no hints needed. Please screw the cap back on snuggly to keep the sand and water out. During winter storms this are is subject to flooding by the ocean and the creek. That’s probably why there aren’t may caches out in this particular area as a hidden cache may be in jeopardy of washing away. It will be interesting to see how long this cache survives the winter weather. Photos documenting your find and any adventures along the way are much appreciated!
