Geocache Description:

The original bridge across Willinga was a tramline bridge and crossed the lake 800 m east of the present road bridge. The tramline rails were 10x10cm turpentine or ironbark, spiked to half-round sleepers laid directly in the soil.

The tramline bridge was the earlist bridge over Willinga Lake, it was built to to haul logs by bullocks to the Bawley Point mill, though one car did cross it in the early guest house days.

A vehicle bridge was built eventually about 1932. It was a simple structure. Logs were laid on the bed of the lake parrallel to the shore, stringers across these and decking laid on the stringers. This first bridge was replaced or at least extensively repaired in 1943.
The present concrete bridge was opened on 16 April 1969.
