Wander Through Time Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

DR. Ape: After much deliberation we have decided to archive this cache. We loved the walk and the set up unfortunately this is not an area we pass by often anymore and with our busy life style we feel this is the one that we wish to let go of.

I would like to thank South Norfolk and the wardens at Whitlingham park for allowing this cache and i hope that someone more local will pick up the trail and put a new one out here in an area that deserves to have a cache placed.

Geocache Description:

Whitlingham Country Park is only a couple of miles from Norwich city centre, it was once owned by the Colman family who were famous local mustard makers. This walk has included many of the park's historical features.

We would like to thank Mike Bentley of SNC and the Rangers at Whitlingham Country Park for their help with placing this cache.

PLEASE NOTE that you do not need to leave the paths until you reach the cache. Dogs must be kept on a lead. The co-ordinates above are for the car park, all parking in the park is Pay & Display.

During the walk you will visit the ruins of Trowse Newton Hall, with it's avenue of Lime trees. The hall was once a monk's Manor House, and was visited by King Richard III. You will also discover the ancient chalk workings where evidence has been found of Paleolithic and Neolithic flint knapping.

There is a Visitor centre with a cafeteria and toilets available, for opening hours tel 01603 617332.

For a bit of fun, see what sculptures you can find around the walk, you might even find a snorkler!
