"Sleigh bells ring are you listenin'? In the lane snow is glistenin'..." Oh yes, it's winter in the Carolinas. Newly fallen snow on tree branches. Skiing in the mountains. Ice skating up town on the "Green". Ice storms. Broken power lines and no electricity for a week. Driving with the "crazies" on Charlotte's streets. And let's not forget "Black Ice". It's a great time of year when there's black ice in the morning to bundle up, get a thermos full of hot chocolate, grab the video camera, and head down to the intersection at the bottom of the hill. There we watch drivers coming down our street doing the usual 40 in a 25 MPH zone with a cell phone in one hand, a take-out coffee in the other, and not one lick of sense as they stomp on their brakes at the stop sign at the bottom and go sliding into the intersection. Panicked expressions as coffee spills everywhere but the cell phone stays tightly gripped. "Oh wow, did you see that car do a one-and-a-half spin? I'll give that one an 8.5". It's not nearly as much fun watching in this age of anti-lock brakes, but nevertheless it still provides us retired folk with free entertainment.
We just love winter in the Carolinas and we hope that you enjoy hunting this cache in a place that is always a "Winter Wonderland".
FTF goes to Therapaint and gbmcache for working on this together!
