Geocache Description:

Bring the kids to have fun. There's a walking piano here at Children's Mercy Hospital where the kids can step on the keyboard to play it. I gave it a try myself. Also playground equipment.

The story told to me by my paternal grandmother is that my Dad was born early, weighing only 3.5 pounds, and was taken to Children's Mercy Hospital to help him survive. When she brought him home, she put him in a shoebox in an open oven on the lowest temperature to keep him warm. She felt like he lived due to the care he received at the hospital.

Note: The Children's Mercy Hospital does not have room in its parking garage for us to park. The street below the cache has no parking signs posted so you'll have to drive around and find a nearby street to park on or park in the underground Crown Center parking garage. Crown Center parking has a fee (except Saturday and Sunday) but if you go into one of the Crown Center stores they will validate your parking so it will be free as long as you aren't there longer than 3 hours. Park is wheelchair accessible on the north side, however, unless you have someone drop you off at the corner of the sidewalk, it may not be feasible if you have to park quite a ways off.
