Beautiful mountain trail site overlooking avalanche chute site half way from Taos ski valley to Williams Lake.
This pretty site overlooks the location where Tim Harter was tragically killed in 1996 in an avalanche. Tim owned restaurants with his wife Laurie (ie, Tim's StrayDog Cantina). I visited this site with my wife about a month after the avalanche and saw the memorial left by Tim's friends and employee softball team. Returning today to place this cache in a beautiful snowy setting was very touching. Please enjoy your visit and remember Tim as you log into this very small cache.
July 1, 2009 Added note..I hid this while on my snowshoes on about 5' of snow. I didn't think about the fact it would be 5' higher in the summer months. Sorry about that. It is a neat site. Whoever finds it next way up in the tree please move it down a bit and fasten securely so thyat next searcher can find it from ground level..thanks & Enjoy ! dboondocks
