Geocache Description:

Enter from Gun Club road, follow the track into the Tuart Forrest National Park, 4WD vehicles only, good track but soft.

This was the first state forrest ever established in WA back in 1919. It was logged until 1974 and is now a National Park.
The large Tuart tree you will see is in open accessable country and is one of several big tuarts in the area. The difference with this tree is the growths or lumps evident on its trunk, these are called burles and are prized by wood turners because of the curley nature of the grain.
Enjoy this forrest, it is a favourite place for kangaroos to rest during the day, Look for dish shaped clearings in the ground, these are their day beds.
