Geocache Description:

You know that you’ve seen it. It lurks on street signs and at entrances to neighborhoods and shopping centers. Who knows where it will end up next?! It is spreading like kudzu all over our fair state and will probably take over the entire planet! What is it?

It’s THE PRETENTIOUS E!!

You know you’ve found it when you see a sign that reads “Parke” instead of “Park." Or how about the sophisticated “Pointe” instead of “Point?" There are just too many examples to list. Sometimes we get so sick of seeing these ridiculous monikers that we just want to scream from the rooftops: “Give us a break(e)!!!”

I was visiting Wilmington several months back, and I came across this series started by the fraygirlse, er fraygirls. Their cache is The Pretentious E. David and I had been having a discussion about those useless "e's" several days before. Imagine my surprise when I found someone else who feels the same way we do about the overuse of the fifth letter of the alphabet. Finally we have found others with whom we can join forces to fight back against this travesty! I decided to place a cache close to home to combat the problem here. Feel free to rant about the invasion of the pretentious "e" in your online log for the cache; it will make us all feel better.

Congratulations, Hoosiere&Tarheele, on your first first-to-finde!
