How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This, our first series, is set on a varied circular walk (farmland, woodland, orchard etc) of under 5 miles just north of Herstmonceux. It consists of 16 individual caches and a bonus so make sure you note the bonus clues written in each log. It is recommended though not necessary to do the caches in numerical order. The ground is fairly good but it is extremely muddy (horse fields) on the approach to # 9 and #11. There is also a broken bridge just before #9 so please be careful. There are unfortunately a couple of very high dog unfriendly styles on route which our two Labradors struggled with.
Not all the footpaths are clearly marked so please take a map with you and ensure you respect any private land the paths may take you through. All caches are placed near footpaths.
You will need to bring your own pencil for signing logs in the micros.
The series is designed to coincide with Go Pack Go’s 5000 finds event GC1M6QK on Sunday 22nd February and will hopefully be published a day or so before. The idea is that any geocachers coming to this event who would like to cache first will meet earlier to complete the series on the Sunday morning before heading to the event venue in time for lunch. So any of you first to find freaks please hold off until then!
