Future finders please note the tasks you must complete to log this EC and the tools you’ll need to complete these tasks. I have had far to many finders sending incomplete info when clearly they have just turned up and hoped for the best. Earth caches are there for a reason, or learn something. All the info about earth caches is here. I will not be accepting finds on this earth cache if you do not supply the correct info.
Earth caches aren’t there just to pad your ‘found it’ numbers.
An easy stroll around a well worn track will take you past some outstanding rock formations created by shelly sediments buried by rock, then uplifted and eroded over time to expose the limestone.
This limestone was quarried for nearly 60 years with around 40,000 tons extracted each year.
The limestone continues to be eroded and shaped by the elements to create the unusual and bizarre landforms you see today.

Interpretation signs along the track further explain the formation of and past threats to the landscape.
This reserve is one of the most outstanding examples of limestone formations in Northland.

To claim this cache, you need to complete the following tasks. BRING CAMERA and a TAPE MEASURE.
