Daniel's Hiding Place is a small geocache located near the River Ogden.
The River Ogden runs down from Helmshore to Irwell Vale. At Irwell Vale it meets the River Irwell. The river takes a dramatic route on its journey from Helmshore to Irwell Vale.
The cache is next to the footpath which goes from Irwell Vale to Helmshore.
The footpath can be very muddy, and please be aware - that there are VERY STEEP DROPS into the river.
Just up stream from the cache - there is not any wall - it is just a steep drop into the river - so please be very careful, and if you are going with children - a close eye would be needed and it would be best to hold their hands at this point. The pictures give an indication of the terrrain.
The cache could be combined with others in the area - either as a circular walk from Irwell Vale to Helsmhore along the riverside path and then back via Ravenshore, or you could combine it with a walk up into the hills.
There is no need to search along the river side of the path.
The path to the cacahe site is not suitable for those with prams / wheelchairs or with mobility problems.
