Geocache Description:

This cache is located a few hundred yards from the beginning of a trail that switch-backs up the steep western slope of South Table Mountain.

You're looking for a container the size of a film cannister. You will find his cache before you reach the first switchback on the trail. The trail is not steep at this point.

After you've found this cache, keep moving and search for other caches on top of the mesa. The area is rich in fauna, flora and history. Enjoy views of Denver, the Rocky Mountains, Golden and Green Mountain as you hike.

NOTE: The trail gets steeper beyond the cache. If you want to visit the top of the mesa with less effort, try the easier trail that begins near "http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=98d72c13-8326-44e4-a8b4-ccf3f5ffbaa6"> GC1M0P7.

NOTE: If you're a mountain biker, you will work very hard to ride all the way to the top of the mesa via this trail. I've tried it, but carried and pushed my bike a lot. It was hard work. The southern and eastern trails are much better suited to cycling. However, you could definitely convince me to ride down this way by tempting me with some post-ride refreshment at Golden's coffee shops on 13th Street or Washington Avenue...

Driving Directions: Find 19th in Golden and go east as far as you can. This is the same road that connects historic Golden with Lookout Mountain (Mt. Zion) and highway 6. It's south of Coors brewery.
