The rampage for caches across the Nation's Capital is on again
and we're counting on you to join in on the carnage! This edition
brings new challenges and perils into the mix as we attempt our
first WINTER event! You need to muster all your courage as a
geocacher to survive the lurking dangers, and protect yourself
against the unstoppable Voorhees Frost (Jack's eviler twin brother)
as he attempts to defeat you with his arsenal of lethal weapons
such as frost bite, unseen pitfalls under the deep fresh powdered
snow, and the oh-so-nasty "frozen whipping branch against the face"
snare. Survive as long as you can...
Canada's Capital Cachers presents...
Most of you hardened survivors already know how this works,
but for those whose axes are still dull, or for the ones who've
survived the onslaught so many times they have a hard time
remembering whether to run or sit down and cry, visit the Ottawa
geocaching website for the
list of suggested guidelines.
Whether you've been up all night caching in the snow, or just
want to show up at the hall on Saturday to meet new people and swap
geocaching stories with old friends, everyone is welcome! Here's
where we're meeting:
Other needed information:
- The get together at the above coordinates starts at 6 PM
Saturday, February 14th. Yes, its Valentine's day, so bring your
significant other along for the fun!
- ATTENDANCE IS FREE. The hall does not have a restaurant /
kitchen, so bring your own dinner. This cuts down on costs and
allows freedom of movement around the hall without being tied to a
table and a bill.
- A cash bar is available for those who want to toast some FTFs
or drown their DNF sorrows.
- OPTIONAL: It would be great if you could bring a door prize
along, and if you will have children with you (or are one at
heart), it would be wonderful if you could bring a kid's prize as
well. All kids (big and small) like to go home with prizes, and
they always look forward to that part of the evening.
- If you have any ideas to add to this event, please send us
an email via our profile and we will try to incorporate
them.
- Please post a note on this page indicating if you can make it
and how many will be in your party.
- Please email us if you want to volunteer. We will do our best
to find some work for you.
Happy hiding and seeking! See you at the hall on the 14th, or
perhaps on the trails on Friday night...
