On November 3, 1805 Meriwether Lewis and William Clark passed through the Sandy mouth on their expedition to the Pacific Ocean. By October 29, 1881 Troutdale had a population of a little over 300 people, in the year 2000 there were 13,777 people, and still growing everyday. There were three major disasters in Troutdale: a fire in 1907 that only left one building standing from the 1890 period, a second fire in 1925 that again destroyed most of the business district thankfully leaving The Tiller Hotel and Helming's saloon virtulally untouched, and a flood in 1948 that also destroyed the community of Vanport in Portland.
Now that I have given you a small history lesson, you will need to figure out a little more history of Troutdale before you can find the final cache.
