Pinole Valley Park. Flat easy 10 minute hike, easy find. NO poison oak.
Cache is a small(ish) plastic jar painted black and brown camo. Contents include log book, pencil and a few trade items.
This park is notorious for poison oak, but it's NOT an issue for this cache. There is none at the cache site itself or leading to it as long as you stay on the road until you are nearby.
I've been told this is near the location for the Old Martinez adobe. If you pay attention while you walk the gravel road to the cache you'll see remnants of an old asphalt road, this was the route pinole valley rd took before it was moved and the nearby bridge was built. An old restored victorian still stands on the road near where you park.
If you wonder away from the cache into the trees exploring the south/west side (opposite side from cache) of the road and look carefully - you may find remnants from homes long gone, maybe a set of steps or the base of an old chimney among fallen man made timber.
FTF gets a 1959 Silver half dollar. Good luck!
There are 3 ways to get to this cache. I recommend parking near the dog park. Another way is to park on Pinole Valley road and cross the foot bridge behind the first/biggest soccer field. Lastly you could pass the park on Pinole Valley Road, cross the bridge and park in the turnout just past the bridge. Be sure not to block the fire gate. EDITED NOTE: If you come from the dog park side, pass the cache a little before turning off the road to find the trail to avoid bushwacking.
