Arvie Mae
Alexander Kennedy: 1915 - 2008
Arvie was my wife's grandmother, but we all knew her as
"Nannie". Nannie lived most of her life in her beloved home state
of Tennessee, but as she advanced in years following the death of
her husband Orville, she moved to Baytown in 2000 to be near us,
her closest kin. The last 2-1/2 years of her life, she lived in the
assisted living facility, just north of the cache. She passed away
in December 22, 2008, two weeks shy of her 94th birthday.
Looking north from the cache at the white building beyond the
fence, Nannie's room was the one with the bay window on the ground
floor, left corner. She used to enjoy looking out the window at the
park and watch people enjoying themselves there.
Cache is wheelchair accessible most of the time. After a heavy
rain, however, much of this park will be covered under several
inches of water.
