The idea of this series is to lead you around the many
paths
that surround the new development at Cambourne in Cambridgeshire.
The development has many open green spaces and footpaths, cycleways
bridleways that criss-cross the area. These pathways look over some
lovely tracts of countryside in any season. Another thing you will
notice as you walk between the caches is the amount of tree/bush
planting the developers have carried out. When it all matures it
should look very impressive. The complete circuit from cache to
cache is about 6 - 6.5 miles - depending which way you go.
Many parts of the development have not made their way on OS maps
yet so here is a link to a map showing the current pathways -

The Caches
The caches are a range of Nano, barrel, micros, screw top
vitamin bottles, 250ml and 500ml click & click boxes. The
latter 3 types being camouflaged and contain a small collection of
swaps. Just for fun I'm not going to say which is which. It should
be fairly obvious at each cachesite. And to make it more
interesting - no clues to start with - lets see how it goes.
In addition each cache has a code character that helps you
towards the co-ordinates for a final 16th bonus cache. Make a note
of the character and which cache you got it from. You will find it
on the inside of the lid of this cache. Also - one cache has a clue
to the decryption method for the final and another has the
decryption key. You will need all the caches to decode the bonus
cache.
Following the cache trail you will be required to cross a couple
of very busy roads and the area has several lakes, streams and
drainage ditches - so please keep a close eye on children. Some of
the paths can be muddy after rain. I do not recommend this series
for wheelchairs because of the soft muddy terrain in places and
only a rugged style of buggy is recommended.
When replacing the cache, please ensure it is well hidden and no
labelling is visible. Some of the caches have sachets of silica gel
(to absorb any dampness) in them - please leave these in the
cache.
